AI VISIBILITY: FOR RESTAURANTS

When someone asks ChatGPT,
does your restaurant appear?

NIXUMA's AI Visibility (GEO) check is a service for restaurants that measures whether your restaurant is included when guests ask an AI such as ChatGPT for recommendations in your area. If it is not included, we report in writing which restaurants were chosen instead, and where the public information AIs read has gaps or errors. Requests and reports all happen by email.

WHAT IT IS

What AI visibility means

AI visibility is whether your restaurant is named and recommended in the answer when a guest asks an AI to help them choose a restaurant.

How guests find restaurants is changing. Alongside searching on Google and picking from a list, more guests give an AI such as ChatGPT or Google AI search their conditions and receive an answer narrowed down to a few restaurants. If you are not in that answer, then no matter how good your restaurant is, you never enter that guest's choices.

The difference from traditional SEO is that the question is not your ranking. The question is whether you are in the answer at all. AI answers are assembled from public information: your official information, your Google Business Profile, review sites, and similar sources. That means the accuracy and consistency of your public information affect the AI answer directly. NIXUMA measures that position and helps you fix the gaps.

SCORE BREAKDOWN

What the score is made of

01 Appearances (named in the answer)We ask the way a guest asks an AI to find a restaurant: “area + cuisine,” “area + occasion (anniversary, business dining, family meal, and so on),” and count whether the restaurant in question is named in the answer. We use both English questions, written as visitors would ask, and Japanese questions, written as local guests would ask.
02 Which restaurants appeared insteadWhen your restaurant does not appear, we record which restaurants the AI recommended instead. If you do not know who you are losing to, you cannot know what to fix.
03 Descriptions that do not match the factsWe check whether details in the AI answer (opening hours, closing days, location, price range, cuisine) match your official information. Wrong details cost visits directly.
04 Patterns in the sources the answers draw onWe look at which kinds of public information the AI answers appear to rest on: your official site, your Google listing, review sites, and so on. When the sources lean one way, that lean itself points to what to fix.

HOW IT WORKS

01 AI Visibility CheckSend us your restaurant name and your Google Maps link. We ask AIs repeatedly, using questions written for the moments guests choose: anniversaries, business dining, family meals. We measure in both Japanese, as local guests ask, and English, as visitors to Japan ask, and send a short report covering whether you appeared, who appeared instead, and whether anything stated did not match the facts. Free
02 Full AuditWe widen the number of questions and the range of AIs, measure repeatedly, and deliver a detailed report covering appearance rates, comparison with competitors, and information errors. It includes a fix list in priority order. $59 (planned)
03 Quarterly Check-inEvery 3 months we measure again under the same conditions and report changes in appearance rate, new competitors, and any new information errors in a one-page report. A 3-month interval is what lets us report change that means something. $79 / 3 months (planned)
04 Fix PackFor problems found in a check, we prepare the correction deliverables and support you in applying them. We create and hand over wording for Google Business Profile fields, proposals to make your listing details consistent, draft correction requests for external sites, and menu information as text data. You apply the changes on screens that require owner authority, with a written step-by-step guide. We agree the scope in writing before we start. $189 (planned)

Current status: in testing

This service is currently in testing ahead of its formal release, while we check the measurement method. First, we ran a check on NIXUMA itself, and we publish the results and the method on this site. Our order is: test it on ourselves before we sell it. Once that is published, bookings for the AI Visibility Check will open.

If you want a release notice, or you are interested in cooperating as a test restaurant, email [email protected]. One sentence is enough.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Q1If I sign up, will ChatGPT start recommending my restaurant?

We cannot guarantee that. AI answers change from question to question, and no mechanism exists that forces a specific restaurant to appear. What we do is measure your current position accurately, and find and fix errors in the public information AIs read. Any service that says “you will definitely appear” is not describing this accurately.

Q2What does an AI Visibility Check tell me?

We ask AIs repeatedly, using questions written for the moments guests choose, such as anniversaries and business dining, and report: (1) whether your restaurant was named, (2) which restaurants were named instead, and (3) whether anything said about your restaurant did not match the facts, such as wrong opening hours. Full method details are on the Methodology page.

Q3What do I need to provide?

You can start with just your restaurant name and a link to your Google Maps listing. During the process we may ask you to confirm details in your Google Business Profile, but we never ask for your password.

Q4Do I need calls or meetings?

No. Requests, reports and answers to your questions all happen in writing, by email and similar channels. We do not call you during business hours.

Q5Is there a minimum contract term for monitoring?

No. With the quarterly plan, you can end future check-ins with a single email, as long as you write before the next check-in runs.

Q6Which restaurants is this for?

We are currently testing with independent and small restaurants in Tokyo. It fits restaurants where being chosen by visitors and first-time guests matters.

Q7I hear AI answers differ every time. Does a single measurement mean anything?

You are right, and that is why we never treat a single result as a “score.” We repeat the same questions across several AIs and report a share: how many times out of how many you appeared. Our full reasoning is on the Methodology page.
